Commercial travel
Permanent residents outside Canada generally need a valid PR card or PRTD to board a plane, train, bus or boat to Canada. A PRTD is normally for a single entry.
Apply through the official process
Check eligibility and apply using IRCC’s travel-document instructions. Keep your travel and residency records available. Check separate CBSA instructions for a private vehicle crossing.
