Trips outside Canada

Add every trip since landing, including an ongoing trip. Departure and return days count as days in Canada; only full days abroad are deducted.

Counting assumptions

The window includes the landing date (or the five-year look-back date, if later) and ends the day before assessment. Calendar years and leap days are used. For a February 29 anniversary in a non-leap year, February 28 is used. Verify boundary-day cases with IRCC. Ongoing absences are counted through the day before assessment. No overseas credits are included.
